- This is the California Highway Patrol's list, so it covers crashes the CHP is handling: freeways, state highways and roads outside city limits. Crashes on city streets are handled by city police, who don't publish a live list. The CHP's list also only shows incidents its dispatch has open; cleared ones drop off.
- How current is this list?
- We read the CHP's live dispatch list every 2 minutes. These are first reports from CHP dispatch, so details can be wrong or change. When the CHP's file stops updating or comes through cut short, this page says so.
- How do I get the police report for a crash?
- Ask the agency that took the report. Our page on police accident reports lists every CHP Area office and how to find which agency took a report.
- Is my location stored?
- No. Your location is sent once to our server to pick the collisions near you and is not kept.
